Watch me in action!

There are approximately ten thousand videos of me on my YouTube channel and instagram, but here are a few favorites that really spotlight my performance and presentation style

Learn data science with me!

I have a 24-video series on YouTube that covers all the key concepts and highlights from my NYU course Data Science for Everyone. The material is based on 11 semesters of teaching this to thousands of undergraduate students since 2019.

I also wrote a (free, online) course text with my fantastic co-instructor Arthur Spirling.

Down with the tyranny of means!

I spoke at the Wharton People Analytics Conference where I shared five simple (truly!) tips to make the most of people data (and really any data).

We all feel like we need to use machine learning and AI to make important discoveries, but I promise that looking at just regular old data through fresh lenses mixed with subject matter expertise will get us far!

Being on TV is my favorite

I had the honor of being a guest on the Bloomberg Original TV show AI_IRL with hosts Nate Lanxon and Jackie Davalos on their episode, “Is AI Our Future Teacher?”

While AI is definitely changing education — rapidly — I argue that critical thinking and scientific reasoning will never go out of style.

An example of a keynote

I’ve spoken at events around the world and to audiences from Global Fortune 500s and tech companies to startups and nonprofits and even the UN, but, alas, most of these engagements are not filmed (how convenient, I know).

So, here’s a bit of a sense of my speaking style, with thanks to NYU for calling me a “trailblazer”!

Nothing is data-driven!

I was a speaker at the Wharton Future of Work Conference where I shared my vision for how we are all going to solve our biggest problems through data:

By getting everyone involved in working with data and (brace yourself) never again saying the phrase, “actionable data-driven insights”! Bring on the hate mail!

When data meets circus!

Every now and again someone books me to deliver both a keynote and a circus performance! These are rare treats and I would love to do more of them.

It’s also not just for gimmick — I integrate the circus performance into the message of the keynote for a truly unforgettable experience.

A bit more fun!

A bit more fun! •

Ok, fine! Here are few more styles of performances and videos that I’ve rather enjoyed, but after these the rest are on YouTube!

Profile of my “double life” in the New York Post

It was very fun to be in this video about my life as both a professor and a circus performer. If you want even more circus, here’s my performer reel and here’s me in a music video (I secretly love being in music videos please book me).

Beyond the punditry about misinformation

I love joining livestreams! Here I am on the Daily Tech News Show sharing some cool things I learned about misinformation from Joshua Tucker on my podcast. For example: did you know that misinformation is not nearly as widespread as we tend to think it is?!

Data for good: What sports can learn from other industries

Here’s an example of me facilitating a panel — this time at the fantastic MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference! Our panel featured a member of Congress, tech leaders, and health experts and is exactly the kind of interdisciplinary conversation I love.

Approval voting is the future!

There’s a lot of fuss about Ranked-Choice Voting, but the really mathematically pure voting system is Approval Voting and I will never stop talking about it.
